Accessibility on the bus
There is wheelchair access on all Bayhopper Tauranga and Cityride Rotorua urban buses and majority of Eastern Bay of Plenty buses. Which means that we aim to ensure they are accessible for the diversity of all of our passengers.
Our About the bus page has more information about the different accessibility features of our buses.
Accessiblity concession
The Accessibility Concession provides free public transport across the Bay of Plenty for anyone who is permanently unable to drive and meets the eligibility criteria. Bay of Plenty Regional Council is excited to provide this service and more travel options to members of our community across the region.
Total mobility
Subsidised door-to-door transport
If taking the bus isn't an option for you, the Total Mobility scheme might be. Total Mobility helps people with serious mobility constraints access subsidised door-to-door transport through approved providers based in Tauranga, Rotorua and Whakatāne.
