Driver shortages are impacting bus services

A shortage of drivers is impacting services on the new Tauranga Western Bay of Plenty bus network.

166 drivers are needed to fully operate the new schedule and contractor NZ Bus is currently short of this target by about 25%. This means some trips are being missed.

The weekends are seeing the biggest disruption, week days are also seeing some trips not being run. Where possible information about trips that will not run will be published on the website. If you rely a particular bus service please check the website.

We are working with the contractor to find an interim solution until the driver shortage is resolved.
