Try the bus
Bay of Plenty Regional Council and Bay of Plenty District Health Board are holding a Try the Bus session on Monday, March 27th at Tauranga Hospital.
Maintaining independence and community links can be difficult for those that can no longer drive or have never driven and although buses are a great alternative to cars they can be a bit daunting for the disabled, new users or people that haven’t ridden one for a while.
All buses are wheelchair friendly, equipped with ramps and can lower their height to make it easier to get on and off and this session is a great opportunity to become familiar with these features.
A Bay Hopper bus will be parked behind the hospital taxi rank between 12:30pm – 2:30pm and Bay Hopper staff and health care professionals will be available for support. We encourage anyone to come along for helpful hints, to find out more about the available services and learn what to expect.
