Extended hours for Winter Nights Winter Lights
Tauranga's luminous celebration returns for 2017 with the second edition of Winter Nights Winter Lights on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th of July. The free, all-ages event on Tauranga's waterfront is organised by Tauranga City Council and features interactive light installations, a projection of light onto a cascading wall of water, food stalls and more.
Thi year Bay of Plenty Regional Council have come on board to help out with extended operating hours on most Bayhopper routes.
Public Transport Committee Chairman Lyall Thurston sees the late buses as a great opportunity to get behind a community event and to showcase Tauranga’s bus service to new users.
“We’re thrilled to support Tauranga City Council’s Winter Nights Winter Lights event by extending our Bayhopper operating hours for Friday and Saturday and we hope to see lots of families and groups of friends make the most of the later services,” said Mr Thurston.
