What does a Smartride card do?

What will the Smartride card cost me?

  • A $7 card issue fee plus the cash value you choose to load on the card (minimum $10).

How do I 'top up' my Smartride card?

  • Ask your Cityride Rotorua driver when you board. The driver will give you a receipt recording the value added and the balance remaining.

What happens if I lose my Smartride card?

  • If you have registered your card, just call the Reesby Buses Ltd depot on (07) 347 0098 and the card will be hot listed the next day. This will prevent anyone else from using the card. A new card will be issued (card issue fee applies).

Terms and Conditions

Registration

  • All information given on the registration form must be true and accurate.
  • Keep the Smartride deposit receipt as a record of the transaction and the card number.

Cardholder obligations

  • It is the cardholder's responsibility to ensure that the Smartride card remains in working order.
  • The cardholder must ensure that the card is not defaced, vandalised or damaged in any manner and is not altered, modified or otherwise tampered with.
  • It is also the cardholder's responsibility to notify Reesby Buses Ltd of any changes to their contact details.

Lost and found cards

  • Loss of a Smartride card should be reported to Reesby Buses Ltd on (07) 347 0098. The card will then be hot listed, an action that prevents all subsequent users from accessing the stored value. Any Smartride card found should either be handed to a driver or sent to the Reesby Buses Ltd office. The card issue fee is not refundable.
